The final major is in the books as Padraig Harrington came from behind on Sunday to win the PGA Championship, just two weeks after winning the British Open. Harrington won’t be in action on the PGA Tour this week as it makes its final stop of the regular season at Sedgefield Country Club for the 2008 Wydham Championship. After play is finished up this weekend the top 144 players in the FedEX Cup point standing move on to the fairly new FedEx Cup Playoffs. Last year Tiger Woods took home the first playoff win, that is ran similar to what NASCAR uses. Brandt Snedeker will be in action this weekend, as he tries to defend his championship. To help you get going on the event this weekend, Jason Lowry is going to a closer look at the favorites odds to win this weekend.

Vijay Singh +1000 odds to win at Sportsbook.com
Its hard to figure out Singh over the last few weeks, as he really didn’t play well at the British Open a few weeks back as he failed to miss the cut. In his next start Singh changed it all around and won the Bridgestone Invitational, but last week things went back down, as he played so bad he missed the cut again. And just for that we are going to ride this little wave and pick Singh to come through with a solid performance this weekend. Singh is safe in the point standings, as he sits in 7th, but a big finish this weekend could give him some much needed motivation and confidence for the playoffs.

Paul Casey +1500 odds to win at Sportsbook.com
This says quite a bit about the play of Casey, getting these good of odds, but if you take some time to look at how this guy has played over the year it gets pretty impressive. Casey followed up his 7th place finish at the British Open and a 8th place finish at the Bridgestone Invitational, with a 15 place finish at the PGA Championship. Casey also finished 11th at the Masters and tied for 9th at the Accenture Match Play Championship. Casey’s stats don’t really blow you away, its just this guy seems to bring it when it matters, so it will be interesting to see how he plays this weekend, when its really not all that important of a tournament.
