Week 8 NFL Odds, Point Spreads & Betting Lines

With the Colts’ impressive win over the Jags, week 7 ended, and now week 8 NFL odds are up and ready for us to take advantage of the books. Dave Price endured just his second losing week of the NFL season last week as the breaks did not go our way. A blocked field goal return for a TD cost us the cover in the Dallas Minnesota game and the Jets half-point against the spread loss was a tough pill to swallow. Dave Price has now cashed winning tickets for his clients 5 of the first 7 weeks of the season and you can bet he’ll get his revenge in week 8.

I think the best story in the NFL right now, by far, is the New England Patriots. Not only is New England a perfect 7-0 in the win column this season, but it is 7-0 against the number as well. The fact that the Patriots have not won by less that 17 points has forced bookmakers to release ridiculous sounding lines. For example, this week the Pats have opened as 16-point favorites against the 4-2 Washington Redskins. This huge margin has been set against the third best defensive team in the league. But if New England tore up the
Cowboys that badly on the road and has won by 20 or more points in six of seven games, do bookmakers really have a choice? Rarely do we ever see more than two touchdown favorites in the NFL and the Pats are now measured as such in back-to-back weeks. Our best advice right now is to avoid them against the spread. We don’t recommend this to our average player because of the risk, but if you’re a big money man, the Pats on the money line could go 16-0 this regular season. You’ll have to lay $1700 in juice to make this bet this week.
