After Week 4, four undefeated teams remain (two in each league), and three teams still remain winless. Of the four undefeated teams, the oddsmakers have made three of them double digit favorites out of the gates (Cowboys, Patriots, and Colts). The other undefeated, Green Bay, is just a 3-point favorite at home as the oddsmakers feel the Bears aren’t completely done yet.
Of the three winless teams, the Saints are the only squad the oddsmakers have favored this week to finally pick up a win.
Neither the Jets or Giants appear playoff caliber at this point, but this rivalry matchup in week 5 is sure to have the city of New York talking. The books are giving the early edge to the home Giants in this Big Apple battle. The Giants have come on to win back-to-back games after starting 0-2. The Jets endured a tough 3-point loss at Buffalo last week in a division game and will try to bounce back this week.
Another notable matchup is the Seahawks versus the Steelers. Pittsburgh has opened as a 5.5 point favorite at home this week. Both teams are 3-1. The Steelers endured their first setback of the season this past week after looking invincible the previous three. Arizona is also responsible for giving the Seahawks their only loss of the season back in week 2. Seattle enters this one having won 2 straight. It should be the premier inter-league game of the week.
