Below are the week 1 NFL predictions by taking what the odds makers think the score is going to be.  This entails who is going to win and by how many points.  If you are in an office pool where all you have to do is pick winners or you are in a survivor league where you just have to pick one game and have it not lose, then use this as a tool for adding to your winning percentage.  Remember, these are predictions which are educated guesses and not solid gold, and they are based on what the odds makers expect.

Buffalo Bills 14
Pittsburgh Steelers 24

No blowout slated here even after Pittsburgh dominated the Browns on the road last week. A comfortable win is still schedule though.

Cincinnati Bengals 24
Cleveland Browns 17

The Bengals handled the reigning AFC North champs at home last week on MNF. The books have the short week slightly affecting Cincy as they are just roughly TD favorites.

Indianapolis Colts 27
Tennessee Titans 19

The Colts still won’t have a problem in week 2. Although, the books see this one closer than many think it will be.

Houston Texans 16
Carolina Panthers 23

The oddsmakers like the Texans to get some home wins, but this team isn’t going to be a road warrior just yet.

San Francisco 49ers 20
St Louis Rams 24

The Niners came out of nowhere to win at home in week 1. The road is projected notto treat them as well.

Green Bay Packers 19
New York Giants 18

The Pack beat McNabb and company to open the season. Now, Vegas likes them slightly better than the Giants. A 2-0 start would be huge for the Pack and disastrous for NY.

Atlanta Falcons 12
Jacksonville Jaguars 22

This will be the most boring matchup of the week. I hope the fact that I didn’t knock on wood makes this baby a barn burner.

New Orleans Saints 23
Tampa Bay Buccaneers 19

Defense wins championships, but not if you have no offense. The Saints get the nod by the books here.

Minnesota Vikings 20
Detroit Lions 23

I love good ole fashioned black and blue division football. This should be one of the tightest games this week and the books like the Lions at home behind their passing attack.

Dallas Cowboys 22
Miami Dolphins 18

The fish put up a good showing but ultimately sink against the ‘boys according to the books.

Seattle Seahawks 23
Arizona Cardinals 19

The books see the Cards showing well early this week too, but eventually blowing it late. Hopefully that won’t turn into a pattern.

New York Jets 12
Baltimore Ravens 22

Without Pennington at 100% and perhaps not even in the lineup, the books have the Ravens rolling. A 10-point victory is rolling for this defensive club.

Oakland Raiders 14
Denver Broncos 24

It looks like the worst team in the West will go down again in week 2. The Raiders need their defense to show up this week.

Kansas City Chiefs 11
Chicago Bears 24

The Chiefs are notorious slow starters, but it’s not looking good against the Bears this week after a bad week 1 start against the Texans. The books actually think KC will play a little better against a better opponent.

San Diego Chargers 21
New England Patriots 25

This is the best matchup in the NFL to date in 2007. The Chargers showed last week with Tomlinson’s half back pass that they will do anything to win, but the books still have them as dogs in New England as expected.

Washington Redskins 16
Philadelphia Eagles 22

This won’t be the most thrilling Monday nighter, but we’ll watch anyway because our money is riding. The books see the Eagles bouncing back in week 2.
