Sunday Sept. 14 the Tennessee Titans will head to Cincinnati to take on the Bengals. While the Titans were able to hold off the Jaguars last week thanks to the great play of their defense, they will be without starting quarterback Vince Young who sprained the medial collateral ligament in his left knee. It unclear how long it will be before he returns and Kerry Collins will be the guy taking the snaps. As for the Bengals they were up ended by the Baltimore Ravens 17-10.

Titans +1
Bengals -1

The Titans offense under Vince Young wasn’t all that impressive as he threw for just 110 yards 1 touchdown and 2 costly interceptions. Young was booed before he got hurt, and it appears all the negativity towards the quarterback is starting to wear on the 3rd year player. The running game had to love what it seen from rookie Chris Johnson who ran for 93 yards and had 34 yards receiving as well, including a 7yd pass for a touchdown. LenDale White on the other hand struggled to get it going as he totaled just 40 yards on the same amount of carries, but was able to punch one in from 1 yd out. Tight end Bo Scalfe led the way receiving with 6 catches for 105 yards, but he was really the only threat the Titans had down field.

The defense of the Titans defense was pretty much about as good as it gets, and it looked like it was ready to carry this team into the postseason yet again. Corner Cortland Finnegan is known for his big hits, but he was able to nab to interceptions last week of Garrard. Fellow corner Nick Harper led the team with 8 tackles, while safety Michael Griffin was close behind with 7. The main story of this defense was the pressure it put on the quarterback, as they were able to rack up 7 sacks. Tackles Ablert Haynesworth and Tony Brown both led the way with 2 a piece. If the defense does what it did against the Jags, it will be a long day for Carson Palmer and company. Bet Titans +1 at JustBet.com

Speaking of the Bengals offense, it really wasn’t much of anything resembling an offense last week against the Ravens, as they were able to combine for just 154 yards through the ground and the air. Palmer was just 9 for 24 for only 94 yards, and added a pick to go with it. Chris Perry got the start after the team let go of Rudi Johnson, and he wasn’t able to do much, running for 42 yards on 19 attempts. Both T.J. Houshmandzadeh and Chad Johnson were unable to get it going, and if this team wants to have a chance against the Titans, they are going to have make some big adjustments before game time.

The Bengals defense did hold the Ravens to just 17 points, but that wasn’t the whole story as the Ravens ran all over them without their starter Willis McGahee. Le’Ron McClain led the way with 86 yards, but rookie Ray Rice did his part as well totaling 64 yards. The Bengals also allowed rookie quarterback Joe Flacco to run for a 38 yard touchdown scramble. There was a bright spot to the day for the Bengals, as rookie linebacker Keith Rivers tied for the lead in tackles with Dhani Jones at 10. If the defense doesn’t improve, the offense has to put up some big numbers, and if they fail to do so, its going to be a long year again in Cinncy. Bet Bengals -1 at JustBet.com
