Seattle Seahawks Green Bay Packers Odds, Line, & Point Spread
May 27, 2008
The Seattle Seahawks v. Green Bay Packers odds are leaning heavily toward the Pack at Lambeau. Could it be that Mike Holmgren and his knowledge of the Pack is being overlooked here? The public has fallen in love with the Pack this season and this trend will likely continue in the playoffs. Make sure you check out this analysis of both teams before you make any decision on your NFL betting this week. If you’ve had trouble beating the NFL odds this season, then you have come to the right place as Dave Price’s NFL picks have been crushing the books all season long. With a first round blowout win over Washington, the Seahawks improved to 11-6 on the year with a 10-6-1 ATS mark. While much of Seattle’s success in the past has been due to running back Shaun Alexander, this season the arm of Matt Hasselbeck has carried the Hawks. With that being said, for Seattle to be successful against Green Bay, they are going to have to be able to run the ball. Seattle only tallied 77 yards on the ground in round one, leaning almost exclusively on the arm of Hasselbeck. Seattle’s defense has been better this season than it was a year ago. It is only allowing 18.2ppg, barely giving up the century mark on the ground, and only 219.1 through the air. There’s no question that Favre will test the Seabirds’ pass defense nearly every play. Getting pressure on Favre will be imperative this week.
Favre looks like the same QB that was winning MVP awards and Super Bowls. He threw for more than 4,000 yards and 28 TDs while breaking nearly every record in the books along the way. Donal Driver could be Seattle’s worse nightmare. Favre found him 82 times for over 1,000 yards on the season. The Packers have struggled to consistently run the football and that could be Green Bay’s playoff poison if they have one. The Packers’ defense also allowed just 18.2ppg, gave up about 10 less yards per game through the air and was equally stingy against the run.
Here are some important trends:
The Seahawks are 7-2 ATS their last 9 games.
The Seahawks were just 3-5 straight up and ATS on the road this season.
The Seahawks are 4-1-1 ATS in their last six games at Lambeau Field. Seattle is 8-1 OVER off a home win by 10 points or more over the last 2 seasons.
Green Bay is 12-3 ATS this season.
The Packers are 7-1 straight up and 6-1-1 ATS in home games this season.
Green Bay is 17-2 OVER vs. mistake free teams with 42 or less penalty yards per game in the second half of the season since 1992.
Green Bay is 6-0-1 OVER its last 7 games..
