Preakness Stakes Predictions & Betting Picks
June 16, 2008
If you are ready to make some money at the race track the third Saturday in May every year then you’ll have to check out Dave Price’s Preakness Stakes predictions. Our premium pick packages will have the win, place, and show horses that you can bank on, but if you are interested in making your own selections then keep reading to learn about a few of the things that we look for when making our choices.
The most important consideration is to find the fastest horse. At Pimlico, it’s important to have pure speed because this is a short track and there are fewer horses in this race than in any of the other Triple Crown events. If a horse can get out front and hug the rail then he is going to be in a great spot to win the race and take home the gold.
When picking which horse you want to take, you will have to investigate the owner, trainer, and jockey. We know that everyone has to win the first one before they can win a lot of these big events, but experience is pretty key in our book. If a trainer has been successful over the long run then you can probably bet that he knows how to train his horses in order to get them in peak condition for the Triple Crown events. Everyone gears up for the Derby, but that was only two weeks prior and the conditioning is still going to be up there for most of these animals. Jockeys and owners that have a history of winning won’t be as caught up in all of the hoopla surrounding the event as inexperienced guys might be.
Everyone and their brother will be telling you that the Derby winner is going to continue his success at the Preakness. The thing is that they might be right because in recent years the success of the Derby winner at Pimlico has been amazing. The best part about it is that not only have they been winning, but they win by large margins. The odds makers will be factoring this into their line setting too though, so you aren’t going to be getting much value in the winner of the Derby.
If you choose to go with Dave Price or you want to do your own homework, we want to wish you the best of luck this year with your Preakness Stakes predictions.
