If you’re all set to place your win bet on Nobiz Like Shobiz, Street Sense, or Hard Spun, you’ll just be throwing away your money. You have to remember that the Derby isn’t about the fastest horse, it’s about the horse with the most endurance and strength to perform on a big track with lots of bumping.

Hard Spun can be hard to catch, but his inconsistencies are enough reason to stay away from this horse. Endurance and desire have been big questions surrounding Spun and with this being a long race, we just can’t count on him to cash our tickets.
If you have been taking looks at Stormello, Cobalt Blue, Zanjero, Sam P, and Any Given Saturday, you are looking in the right direction. Of the Favorites, Any Given Saturday shows the best promise as a horse capable of winning the 2007 Kentucky Derby. This prize pony has three first place finishes, a pair of seconds, and a third to show you the kind of consistency you are getting when betting on this horse. The factor that sets him apart is his distinguished trainer Todd Pletcher who has been honored as the top trainer three years in a row.
