Odds for the Indianapolis Colts to Win the Super Bowl
May 27, 2008
While the Colts have flown under the radar to some degree this season, there are still some futures bettors out there that will be betting on the Indianapolis Colts Super Bowl odds. You just might want to consider taking the reigning Super Bowl champs as there has not been too many undefeated teams in NFL history. I’m of course referring to the Patriots who figure to get plenty of attention on futures wagers. It’s important not to lose sight of just how good the Colts are with their top notch defense and Hall of Fame QB Peyton Manning. It’s also important to remember that Indy had the Patriots down late in the game this season and beat the Patriots in last year’s playoffs. Don’t think for a second that they won’t march into a matchup with New England or anyone else with extreme confidence. Here are some top books where you can take the Colts to win the Super Bowl or AFC Championship.
The odds to win the Super Bowl for the Colts listed at Super Book are +500. This means that a $100 player could earn $500 if the Colts win it all. They are listed at +350 to win the AFC.
BetUS Sportsbook lists Colts Super Bowl odds at +500 as well and with AFC Title odds at +350.
If you’re a Bodog Sportsbook player, the odds are currently listed at +450 to win the big one, and +350 to win the AFC.
I’ll tip my hat to Tom Brady for a miraculous season, but Peyton Manning is the best QB in the NFL in my opinion. Manning tallied an other 4,000 plus yard season, throwing 31 TDs against just 14 interceptions. He started every games of the season once again as well as he looks to be the next in line to take over Brett Favre’s iron man billing.
Not having Marvin Harrison didn’t really slow down manning. He found Reggie Wayne over 100 times for over 1500 receiving yards to lead the NFL. This guy needs to have a permanent pass to the Pro Bowl from here on out. Dallas Clark’s play has earned him the right to be considered one of the game’s best receiving tight ends. He’s come a long way since being a walk on at the University of Iowa. He had 58 catches for over 600 yards and 11 TDs. Joseph Addai also showed that he could be a weapon catching the ball out of the back field.
Addai has made Indy fans forget all about Edgerrin James. He went over the 1000 yard marker this season on 261 attempts. He showed that he could take over games and keep opposing defenses honest.
The defense was a big question mark heading into the 2007 playoffs, but no such questions loom this time around. Bob Sanders is 100 percent healthy and leads this defense which held opponents to just 17.8 ppg. Don’t forget that Indy boasted the best scoring defense of any team in the AFC playoffs a year ago.
