Sunday Sept. 14 the Indianapolis Colts look to come back strong after a disappointing lost to the Bears on Sunday Night Football, as they up north to take on the Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings didn’t fare to well either last week, as they suffered a 24-19 set back against the Packers on Monday Night football. This week there is no center stage, but it still becomes an important game between two believed powerhouses in the NFL this season.

Colts -1
Vikings +1

The Colts were just unable to get much going against a healthy and very good Bears defense. Peyton Manning looked a little rusty throwing 30 of 49 for 257, as he just didn’t have that timing we are use to seeing. Reggie Wayne was the go to guy for Manning grabbing 20 balls for 86 yards and a score, but a good sign for Colts fans was Marvin Harrison looked good coming back, as he grabbed 8 for 76 yards. The running game was pretty much non-existent as Joseph Addai carried the ball just 12 times for 44 yards, and the Colts as a team were only able to manage 53. The Colts face another tough defense this week in the Vikings, and if they want to win this one, the ground game has to be more effective.

The Colts defense was suppose to be sharp as they got Freeney and Sanders back, but that really wasn’t the case, at least against the run, where the Bears ran for 183 yards, and rookie Matt Forte ran all over them for 123 yards. The defense did a pretty good job against the pass, as they allowed the Bears just 150 yards through the air. If the Colts don’t get better against the run, its going to be a long day against Adrian Peterson and the Vikings rushing attack. Bet Colts -1 at JustBet.com

Speaking of the Vikings offense they did alright against the Packers last week, but it needs to get better if this team wants to take over the NFC North. Quarterback Tavaris Jackson really struggled against the Bears through the air, as he was only 16 of 35 for 178 yards with a pick, but he did run for 65 yards. Adrian Peterson tried to do his part running for 103 yards and a score. Nobody really did much through the air as the leading receivers was back up tight end Garret Mills who grabbed 3 balls for 49 yards. The Vikings need to get better on this side of the ball, as their defense should carry them for the most part when needed.

The defense of the Vikings wasn’t as dominant as many might of expected, but it wasn’t that bad either. The team had to be a little disappointed with the performance of newly acquired defensive end Jared Allen, who was pretty much a non factor. The Vikings were unable to get any turnovers last week, and they could really use some big plays on this side of the ball. corner Antoine Winfield and linebacker Chad Greenway lead the team with 8 tackles a piece. The Vikings would love to see more pressure this week, but it might be a tough task against Manning and the Colts. Bet Vikings +1 at JustBet.com
