The worst teams for college basketball betting are those that are not living up to the hype and meeting the odds makers expectations.  You have to keep an eye on these teams as most likely the lines makers will adjust, but you can still find some soft lines in the early going until they do.

1. Michigan Wolverines (4-9 SU & 1-10 ATS) - John Beilein may be in his first season, but it’s not exactly going according to plan.  The team is having difficultly learning his unusual offense and it could take a couple of years go get some players in there to fit hte system.  They have had a tough non-conference schedule, but it’s not going to get any easier when Big Ten play starts.
2. Kentucky Wildcats (6-6 SU & 2-6 ATS) - Billy Gillispie is also in his first year at Kentucky, but this program fired Tubby Smith after a great run so he has to be sweating a little bit.  It seems like the older players aren’t buying into the system, so like Beilein he might have to get some of his players in the program before a return to glory.
3. Louisville Cardinals (9-4 SU & 3-8 ATS) - It seems like a lack of focus and injuries have hurt Rick Pitino’s team more than anything else.  David Padgett and Juan Palacios are out, so that means that depth is an issue.  This team will probably get whipped back into shape and make a decent run through the conference season.
4. Connecticut Huskies (10-2 SU & 2-6 ATS) - This team isn’t bad at all, in fact they are pretty good.  The problem is that from a betting standpoint they are supposed to be better.  This is a young team that Jim Calhoun wanted to get a feel for in the early going.  That meant a lot of non-covers, but if you want to look for value then look for this team to turn it around coming down the stretch.
