Lakers v. Celtics Odds & Predictions

The NBA definitely got its wish this year as the two biggest franchises in professional basketball renew their rivalry in center stage as the NBA Finals gets underway on Thursday. It will be the Lakers v. the Celtics and excitement is high, and we are banking on the highest television ratings for the NBA Championship since 2004 when the Pistons took out the Lakers in five games.
Looking back to one year ago, it’s hard to believe this matchup is taking place. Kobe Bryant was telling everyone that he wanted out of Los Angeles and Boston was in shambles after tanking their regular season to try and get the first pick in the draft to take either Greg Oden or Kevin Durant. As the months wore on some big trades occurred to send both teams over the top, Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett were sent to Boston, while the Lakerslanded Pau Gasol to solidify their front court.
Now, few could say that the Lakers and Celtics aren’t the two best teams in the league, and this should be a battle for the ages as Kevin Garnett and Kobe Bryant square off reminding every one of the glory days when Magic’s Lakerswere challenging Bird’s Celtics.
