But this has not stopped the public from jumping all over the New York Giants as they look back at the week 17 showdown which went right down to the wire. The books have been wrong before and the betting public is hoping that they are again. We have seen Broadway Joe Namath and the Jets upset the heavily favored Baltimore Colts in Super Bowl III and John Elway and the Broncos upset the Packers in Super Bowl XXXII as 12-point dogs to name a couple instances. But make sure you weigh every angle before just jumping on either side as it is very important to hit the Super Bowl. It will close out this season on a high note and set the tone for next year. The score also tells us that oddsmakers have chalked up a much lower scoring game than the first meeting in New York City which totaled 73 points. The betting public has put their money down on the Under, despite the results of the earlier meeting. Perhaps they feel that Tom Brady won’t be quite as effective with a less than 100 percent ankle or that nerves will show in this larger than life contest.
