NASCAR fans are heading to the Midwest and should be in for a treat as Michigan International Speedway will host its first of two events on the season, and its time to take a look at our 2008 LifeLock 400 predictions. Last year Carl Edwards took home the checkered flag and he will be looking for his 4th win of the 2008 season this weekend, but he will have to deal with two of the hottest drivers in the game right now as Kasey Kahne has won 3 of the last 4 races, including a win last weekend at the Pocono 400. Before that Kyle Busch was taking names on the court as he won 3 of 5 races and had 5 straight top 5 finishes. If there is one thing you want to take notice on this weekend is that a Dodge or Ford car have won the last 13 races at Michigan International Speedway. With the race set to get underway Sunday June 15th its time to put out our 1-2-3 weekly predictions for the upcoming LifeLock 400.

1. Carl Edwards - 5/1 odds at Sportsbook.com
We really feel that Edwards has what it takes to win this race for the 2nd straight year. He is already off to a fast start this season with 3 wins and 6 top 5 finishes. Edwards just has the one win here at Michigan, but does have five other top 10 finishes on the track. Edwards seems to always be in the mix of things, and its the main reason that he is in 4th place in the point standings this season. What makes Edwards a big favorite this weekend is that he is driving his Ford car, for Roush Racing. If you are looking for a solid bet this weekend then Edwards is your man.

2. Kyle Busch - 10/1 odds at Sportsbook.com
We are going to take Busch this weekend even though he is coming off one of his worst finishes of the season where he came in last place last weekend at the Pocono 500. Many Speculate that because Busch raced 3 races last weekend that he was worn out by the time the Pocono 500 came around. Busch is hated by many fans around the world and it is probably what drives this guy to want to win as much as possible. After the bad finish last weekend we feel that he will come out fully focused on the race this weekend. Busch has 4 wins on the season including a total of 9 top 5 finishes this season. One thing that Busch will have going against him is that he is driving a Toyota, but this guy is too good this season for us to worry to much about that.

3. Dale Earnhardt Jr. - 10/1 odds at Sportsbook.com
Earnhardt Jr. is a big name driver that has yet to find the winning circle, but has managed to put together a good amount of great starts. Earnhardt Jr. has finished in the top 10 three out of the last four races here at Michigan. Earnhardt Jr. is coming off a 4th place finish at the Pocono and now has 6 top 5 finishes on the season. While we don’t think this will be the weekend you see Earnhardt Jr. win, but we do feel he will come through with another solid finish this weekend. Look for another top 5 finish for the #88 driver this weekend.
