With only one week remaining till golfers make their 3rd attempt at winning a major this season, when the British Open gets underway from Royal Birkdale, but this weekend the PGA Tour makes it weekly stop in Illinois. This Thursday golfers will be teeing it up at the 2008 Johne Deere Classic that get it going at TPC at Deer Run. Just being a fan of the game you might wonder why watch this tournament, when Tiger Woods is shelved up for the year, and 3 of the best golfers in the world are playing on the European Tour this week, we think its worth your time to take notice to some of the names you don’t hear all that much about. To give you a good idea at the guys with the best odds to win this weekend, Jason Lowry is going to take a closer look at the top 3 favorites this weekend.

Kenny Perry - 7/1 at Bodoglife.com
Perry is the safest pick this weekend at the John Deere Classic, as he is red hot of late winning 2 of the past 4 events he has teed it up in. Perry has made this season one of his best, as he is currently 3rd in the FedEx point standings. With another win this weekend Perry will be the only other golfer besides Tiger with 3 wins this season.

Aaron Baddeley - 20/1 at Bodoglife.com
Baddeley is a tough guy to predict, as one week he will be in the top 15 or even the top 10, and then a week later he will miss the cut. His best finish of the season came back in April when he finished tied for 2nd at Verizon Hertiage, but just a week earlier he failed to make the cut at the Masters. Baddeley does most of his damage on the greens as he is 10th in putting, but he is a terrible 125th in total driving.

Heath Slocum - 22/1 at Bodoglife.com
Slocum isn’t a guy you hear that much about, but he after a pretty rough to start the season where he missed 2 straight cuts, Slucom hasn’t missed one since that time back in the middle of February. With a 9th place finish at the US Open and then following it up with a 4th place finish at the Travelers Championship. You have to like what you have seen from this guy, and it looks like this guy could be on his way to his first win of the 2008 season.
