Though a lot of attention is on the Ryder Cup that gets underway next week, the main focus for many of the players comes this weekend when they travel to St. Louis for the 2008 BMW Championship at Bellerive Country Club. Last weekend Vijay Singh made it 2 for 2 in playoff starts and wins, as this time he took home the Deutsche Bank Championship. Though Singh holds a pretty commanding lead, it’s not over, but Singh will have to really fall off this weekend. There won’t be a repeat champion at the tournament in its 2nd year, as Tiger Woods remains sidelined, means it will be up to someone else to step up and take home the Trophy this season. The field has been shortened to the best 70 players, and that means it could be anyones game this weekend, to give you a jump start on the tournament Jason Lowry is going to give you 3 golfers with odds all over the field that he thinks has a chance to win this weekend.

Favorite: Sergio Garcia +900
We continue to ride Garcia, as we feel it’s only a matter of time before this guy wins again, the thing is his chances are running out, as there are only 2 more events on the PGA Tour this season. Thats why we think this week will be the time for Garcia, as he just needs a few more putts to fall. Garcia is one golfer that really has a shot at catching Singh in the point standings, and a win this weekend would go a long way in that happening.

Middle of the Pack: Justin Leonard +2500
Justin Leonard has quietly made his way to 4th in the point standings after back to back ties for 7th in the first two rounds of the playoffs. Leonard has one of the nicest looking putting strokes on tour and that makes him a threat to win almost every single weekend. Leonard has just one win this season coming at the Stanfor St. Jude Championship, but we feel it could be the time Leonard comes out and starts getting everyone talking about him.

Long Shot: Chad Campbell +5000
Campbell has really put together a solid season, and his final 2 round performance last weekend at he Deutsche Bank Championship landed him the final spot on the US Ryder Cup team next weekend. Campbell’s performance landed him a tie for 7th last week, and we feel he could really come out and show why he was captain Paul Azinger last man added to a team that is in desperate need of a win this season, as the Europeans have dominated of late.
